boot linux from windows ntfs partition (frugal install)

i did this to install linux on laptop without removeable media and the usb is not bootable.

In addition, this CD can also be used to backup the harddisk to tape, and restore the hard disk from the tape. The starting point is a very useful utility called ISOLINUX, which functions as a boot loader for CD based Operating Systems."
