"Flippatix is a LiveCD light-weight Linux distribution based on Debian unstable (a.k.a. Sid). It is oriented to audio and video streaming, so it gives to you a good collection of players and broadcasters.
It is developed and assembled by a group of Italian CS students in their spare time and comes in two different graphical flavours: a Gnome version and a Xfce4 one.
Along with streaming instruments flippatix can be a good rescue-cd and allows you to browse the web, chat, simply listening to music and much more. [...]
flippatix 0.0.9, codename "the smiling sheep", is out both for the gnome and the xfce version. This is still a testing release in our development path, but represents a good step in the direction of pur first stable release.
This version comes with several news: - 2.6.15.1 Linux kernel
- Now we use grub instead of isolinux for booting
- Added a rescue and an expert mode at boot
- Videolan is now part of the package collection
- Up to date soma suite software"
